Forever in God’s Service: Embracing His Sacred Love

Posted on

From January to March 2025, the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles marked a joyful time of Final Vows celebrations across the Institute: Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, and Ghana.

These blessed celebrations were more than personal achievements — they were signs of God’s enduring call and the happy life of the OLA Mission. In each country, the Sisters’ courageous “yes” spoke of hope for the future, the beauty of vocation, and the joy of belonging to an international missionary family. Rooted in faith and driven by love, these women step forward as true “women of the dawn,” ready to carry light into the world. Their witness reminds us that the mission continues, alive and flourishing in every corner of our shared mission.

Hope for the OLA Mission
In every country where OLA Sisters profess vows, we see a fresh spark of life for our mission. These celebrations remind us that God’s call continues to echo across generations and cultures. As Sisters say “yes” to Christ in love and service daily, the OLA Mission is strengthened and renewed. Their commitment is a sign that the Gospel message still speaks powerfully to hearts today. We confidently move forward, knowing that the Spirit is at work in every corner of our missionary journey.

Vocation
The final “yes” of our Sisters proclaims that vocation is alive and well in today’s world. Amid global uncertainty, God still calls and women still respond with courage and generosity. These celebrations awaken a deeper hope in us all — that more young women will hear the Lord’s call and follow. Their witness becomes an invitation to others seeking meaning, faith, and purpose. Each vow of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience professed is a seed of vocation sown in trust and love.

OLA Internationality
From wherever OLA Sisters are present, our witness of life shines with the beauty of our global family. Different languages, songs, and cultural expressions meet in unity and faith. This international celebration of one body reflects the universal mission of the Church and the heart of Our Lady Apostles. Our diversity is not a challenge but a joyful strength that enriches every mission and community. We rejoice in a communion that crosses borders and builds bridges of Justice and Peace.

Women of the Dawn
Our Sisters who profess Final Vows are truly women of the dawn, rising early with faith to meet the call of Christ. Like the women at the tomb, they carry light into places of darkness and hope into moments of despair. Their lives speak of new beginnings, of resurrection, of mission with heart and fire. With deep faith and radiant joy, they announce that love is stronger than fear. In every land, they are signs of a new day for the world.

As we celebrate dear Sisters, Edwidge AMUOAH-Ivory Coast, Chantal KOSSOU-Benin, Regina O. UJAH, Rebecca C. ONWUCHEKWA, Maryam O. UGOCHUKWU, Priscilla C. CHUDE-Nigeria, Phyllis OPOKU, and Florence AMENYO-Ghana. We give thanks for the gift of each Sister and the grace of her commitment. Their “yes” renews our hope, strengthens our mission, and reminds us of the joy found in giving all to God. May their witness inspire many more to listen to the call of Christ and follow with courage. The journey continues — rooted in faith, united in mission, and guided by the spirit.
