Week 5 of Final Vows Preparation: A Time of Deep Reflection and Celebration
The fifth week of the Preparatory Programme for Final Vows was a rich blend of spiritual deepening, intercultural learning, and joyful celebration. The week featured insightful sessions that helped participants reflect more deeply on their identity as Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles and the mission entrusted to them.
Sr. Anne FALOLA led a session on OLA Spirituality, offering a profound and reflective input that invited participants to reconnect with the core values and spiritual foundation of the congregation.
Her presentation encouraged a renewed appreciation for prayer, simplicity, and the apostolic spirit that marks OLA life.
Adding to the depth of the week, Sr. Kathleen MCGARVEY gave a comprehensive talk on OLA Charism and Mission, with particular emphasis on Internationality and Intergeneration. She highlighted the richness and challenges of living and working in diverse communities and underlined the importance of mutual respect, collaboration, and openness to the Spirit in fostering unity.
To enhance learning, participants engaged in role plays that brought theoretical insights to life. These interactive sessions allowed for creativity, teamwork, and a more practical understanding of the values being discussed.
The week was also punctuated with joyful celebrations, most notably the Bénin Republic’s Independence Day. The celebration was a vibrant reminder of the international character of the congregation and the beauty of cultural diversity.
Week 5 was indeed a time of growth, learning, and shared joy on the journey toward final vows.
