World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking
World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking – 8 February 2025 Today, 8 February 2025, marks the World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking, a global initiative led by the Catholic Church to unite voices against this grave violation of human dignity. The day coincides with the feast of St. Josephine Bakhita, a former slave who became a beacon of hope and freedom for those oppressed. This year’s theme, “Journeying in Hope: Together Against Trafficking”, calls on individuals and communities to stand in solidarity with victims and survivors while advocating for a systemic change to fight against Human Trafficking. This commemoration emphasizes prayer, reflection, and concrete actions to protect the vulnerable and bring justice to those exploited. Let us unite our hearts and efforts to build a world free from human trafficking, where dignity and freedom are respected for all.
