Embracing Transitions and Dialogue
Week Six Reflections: Embracing Transitions and Dialogue Our sixth week of the Preparatory Programme was a rich journey of discovery, touching both our personal growth and our call to mission. From 4–6 August, Sr. Ekaete Ekop, MMM, led us through the theme Life Transitions and Crises: Overcoming Fragilities. She reminded us that transition is part of every human story—a process of moving from one state of life to another. Sometimes it is expected, sometimes unexpected, and often disorienting. Yet, every shift is also an invitation to grow. Together, we explored the emotions that surface—anxiety, fear, doubt, but also joy and eventual acceptance. We were encouraged to see transitions not as threats, but as signs of transformation, even within the Church and our religious life. The virtues of patience, trust, courage, resilience, and self-care stood out as faithful companions for the journey. The following days, 7–8 August, Sr. Veronica, OLA, opened the space for us to reflect on Interfaith Dialogue. Through group work and sharing, we explored the difference between structured and unstructured apostolate, and how both forms beautifully serve the mission. Dialogue, we learnt, is more than words—it is a way of living with respect, openness, and compassion. Using the four UNESCO pillars of education, we discovered that dialogue calls us to listen deeply, break down prejudices, and build bridges of peace. This week reminded us that embracing change and engaging in dialogue are not optional—they are at the heart of living our vocation with hope and love.
